Azamara Club Cruises

Azamara Quest

Azamara Club Cruises is a relative newcomer to the upscale cruise market. The line is part of the Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Line family and was launched in December 2009. The name Azamara actually comes from Aza, meaning blue, Mar, meaning sea, and Acamar, which is the southernmost bright star seen from Greece, thus Azamara Club Cruises represents the brightest star in the blue sea.

Interesting name aside, Azamara brings noteworthy value to  her guests in both tangible and experiential ways. While no cruise is truly all-inclusive, Azamara uses the term “more-inclusive” and has a host of value added amenities included on every voyage:

  • Boutique red and white wines with lunch and dinner
  • Gratuities for housekeeping, dining and bar staff
  • Complimentary shuttle bus service in many ports
  • Bottled water, soda, specialty coffees and teas throughout the day
  • Complimentary self-service laundry
  • True English Butler service for suite guests
  • Specialty dining available (complimentary for suite guests)

These complimentary extras put Azamara in an elite group of upscale cruise options, but their value advantage doesn’t end there. The two 694-guest jewel-box ships, Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest, can access smaller, more unusual ports than larger ships. Currently they visit 140 ports in 50 countries and plan to increase to 174 ports in 54 countries in the coming seasons. With many late port departures and overnight stays, Azamara guests can immerse themselves in the destinations. In addition, Azamara offers an array of authentic experiences with insider knowledge, destination-inspired entertainment and enrichment, and culturally immersive land discoveries (shore excursions).

Azamara’s lifestyle focus includes wellness and vitality activities, with therapies such as acupuncture, hot-stone massages and facials. Guest can enjoy active options from yoga and Pilates to golf and biking. Extraordinary service is the norm with 408 crew members for 694 guests providing a pampering, personal-touch service without ever  being intrusive. The club-like ambience gives a personalized feel to gracious on-board living. Dining is an event on Azamara, with destination inspired cuisine and local limited-edition boutique wines served in a choice of four dining venues including two specialty restaurants.

While these examples are about the fine cruising experience, the value still continues. Azamara also offers very concrete savings to her guests:
